Hello, Thank You again for considering Kammes Builders for your home improvement needs. Here is a little background about us that should make your decision a lot easier. Kammes Builders Inc. was founded in 1978 by Leonard J. Kammes. Lenny was a union carpenter for 10 years before deciding to go out on his own, and make his own mark on the building industry.
Lenny has been building Custom Homes now for 30 years. He has worked hands-on in every trade (concrete, plumbing, etc....) there is, and has a wealth of knowledge that I would be lucky to learn half of. Lenny is from a time in the trades when it was all about quality and not about quantity. A time when it was all about your reputation and not about what is the most profitable. I highly respect that and that is why I work here.
My name is Chris Ward, and I have been in the trades for 15 years now. I have done everything from foundations to the roofs. I met Lenny through his daughter (Now my Wife) While I was working in concrete. We came to discover that we had similar work backgrounds, so I began working for Lenny part time when concrete was slow. I soon realized that for once I was working for a guy that cared more about doing the job right then about how fast I could do it. So began the slow road of relearning everything I had learned over the past 10 years and learning to do it right. That was 5 years ago. Lenny is also the type of guy that reminds me every time I think I know it all, that I don't know #@$% and that the only reason I can call myself a craftsman is because Dumb @#$ looks bad on business cards.
The newest member of our crew is Brian Bogielski a union welder and metal fabricator that is looking to make a change to something that is a little more creative and challenging. The reason Brian was hired on as an apprentice from a completely different trade, was so Lenny could train him in the correct way of doing things and to have an entirely new person to mold and shape into a Lenny Kammes Clone.
As you can tell we all have a great sense of humor (I hope). Len won't know I'm writing this till it's posted on the web. So if I never get a chance to meet you, this is why. We try to make every client's experience enjoyable, easy, and most important Confident that they chose correctly in choosing Kammes Builders. I hope I haven't made us seem unprofessional, but you see your comfort and security are also high priorities to us.
